Meet the Owner and Joy!

Jen Wysock, AKC Evaluator

The Academy has grown from a passion to a reality in just a few short years. After 35 years in the Equestrian setting, it was time to downsize the interests and join the Canine Performance World. None of this would have been possible if it wasn’t for my Welsh Terrier; Seaplume ‘Joy’ Ride. It was and is her love of learning that led me to seek out new ventures. We have trained and participated in numerous performance events.

As a Dog Trainer I bring not only my years of experience with training and competing, but combine my knowledge from my days of educating at a Medical School, being a Physical Therapist and owning an Equine Rehabilitation business and incorporating that know-how into my teachings at the Academy.  Since Neurologic Diseases and Disorders are my specialty, I find myself drawn to understanding and breaking down Behaviors in dogs. This enables me to treat each team as an Individual. No two teams are trained the same as each learns and progresses at their own pace. My goal is to help owners understand the "Why's" and "How's" with how they train with their dogs and encourage them to reach for new heights in doing so.

The Academy is proud to be the Treasure Coasts leader for Positive and Force Free/Fear Free training.

As the Owner of Treasured Canine Academy, I look forward to Welcoming new Teams and Clients to our 12,000 square foot Indoor Training facility, the largest of its kind on the Treasure Coast dedicated to training our canine partners from pets to performance.

Cara Sandler, Agility

Cara has been training and competing in agility for 10 years. She currently has a spunky 8 year old sheltie named Spirit Joy and a sensitive 6 year old sheltie named Skylar Faith. She has trained under multiple international handlers, and believes that each team brings something unique to the table, and every team will develop at their own pace. There is no "typical" path. She has been successful with her dogs in a variety of sports, including rally obedience, agility, and barn hunt and strongly believes that a good foundation will allow your dog to develop confidence in, and be successful at, multiple tasks and sports. Regardless of whether your end goal is to just play with your dog or move into competition, Cara will work with you to achieve your goals. Cara continuously is awarded with Sportsmanship Awards at events, as she places care and compassion for her dogs and other competitors over herself.
