FUNdamental Series

For those that want to have FUN learning while strengthening their Bond. The FUNdamental Series introduces a FUN approach to learning new skills, not only for the Dog, but the Owner as well. Not every dog nor owner learns the same way. This series breaks down the Foundation of a new skill and allows the dog and owner to learn what works for them. All classes in the FUNdamental Series are taught by the Academies Owner, Jen Wysock. Jen brings her experience from working with patients in the Physical Therapy setting to working with many different dog breeds and temperaments and years of attending and teaching training classes. The struggle is real, the traditional methods are not for everyone. The FUNdamental Series is here to Help educate the dog and handler in a new light.

FUNdamental Learning: Breaking the Barrier to Learning. Simplify, break the "Obedience" stigma and understand the behaviors. The "What's" and "Why's" are covered in this class. First class of this session will be without Dogs. This Class is Ideal for first time students/owners, newly rescued/adopted dogs and those with stress/anxiety.

FUNdamental Scent: Allow the Nose to know! The dog’s nose is powerful, here we will utilize that nose to ground and in air behavior to encourage the “find” and “search” using various scents and surfaces.

This Class stems from Jen's background as a Certified Pilates Instructor and Physical Therapist specializing in Balance and Coordination. No Dogs allowed to this Class.

Scent Work

Scent Work, a Fun and Mentally Stimulating sport for dogs to utilize their keen sense of smell. Scent work is accessible to all types of dogs regardless of size, age, or breed. In Scent Work dogs will use their natural ability to smell and find the location of odors. Dogs are taught to indicate to their handler once found.

Scent Work is expanding beyond the traditional Q-Tips and is now incorporating Shed (antlers), lost items scented with human odor, and live quarry (safely caged).

Scent Work is a team sport between the dog and handler, it will not only increase the dog’s confidence, but also builds the bond between owner and dog!
